She is originally from the Midwest, growing up in both Chicago and Milwaukee. Education and Certifications
Susan has a B.A. in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also has an MBA from Kansas State University with an emphasis in Accounting and Management. Currently, she is working on her Master’s degree in Instructional Technology at George Mason University, which will integrate her Information Technology knowledge with educational programs. Susan is also a licensed Virginia Realtor.

Professional Accomplishments
Currently, Susan is an independent Information Technology Consultant (with a focus on health care) and a Northern Virginia Realtor. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for superior performance and leadership, receiving awards from her employers and professional associations. She started her career as a reporter for a Milwaukee NBC television affiliate. While covering the news there, she met U.S. Senator Bill Proxmire, known for being a watchdog against government fraud and abuse. The Senator offered Susan a staff position in his Madison office, and this began her career in public service. She gained invaluable legislative experience and was later appointed as a chief aide for the Wisconsin Senate Energy and Environmental Joint Committee.

Several years after completing her MBA, Susan shifted her career focus from the public to the private sector and developed expertise in Information Technology. She swiftly advanced throughout her career and worked her way up the management chain—while juggling relocations dictated by Paul’s Army career. Throughout her career she has held the following positions:

  • Business Consultant for Arthur Andersen
  • Accounting and IT College Instructor at Maryville University, St. Louis, MO
